Recently, I’ve been getting a small rash of “spam prose”, or “spam-lit“. I rather like calling it spliterature. It’s been sparse, perhaps once a week, and the text snippets in them are mildly amusing. Here’s a sampling, edited to take out random letter sequences and links which, to be on the safe side, I’ll consider as target painters.
“To an extent that was almost embarrassing. The pretty leaned back in her place in the carriage and surveyed him languidly”
“If we tried for a century. Sir Justin himself had essayed, too, where he sat for a while behind the great Parnell”
“Contrary to popular belief, the end of the year is one of the best times to look for, awesome descion”
“Taylor has a home in the Miami suburb of Palmetto Bay that he bought two years ago. The 24-year-old player is in [removed] his fourth season with the Redskins after playing at the University of Miami, where he was an All-American in 2003”
More to come as I collect them!
Gee, if you splice it all together, it reads as coherently as any classic 19th century American novel! Fuck you, Mark Twain.
